I’m not sure.

But I know I’ve been working at this blog for 4 years, and I sure did like it for a long time, but now I’m just… bored.

Bored with snarking the covers (for the most part, anyway, some of them are serious gems!) and my other miscellany. Even though I like to write and visit my favorite blogs and all that, I’ve just… run out of things to say on this blog right now.

I’ll still check the faves and surf around and such, but for now, it’s sayonara baby. Hasta la vista. So long, farewell, auf wiedersehn goodbye. And all that stuff. Aloha, peeps.

Island Time–NOT

The above picture is of Kelleys Island in Ohio. This was our destination yesterday, for a fun day of bike riding and sight-seeing (and Brandy Alexanders at The Pump).

Then in the parking lot for the ferry my man spilled off his bike, tore open the top of his foot and broke his arm.

Not kidding.

So instead of sight-seeing on the island we were treated to sight-seeing in the ER.

He’s feeling better this morning, thankfully, but it will be a long six weeks of nursing… maybe I should invest in one of those “sexy nurse” costumes, lol…

Hope all youall had an uneventful weekend–Happy Monday(more or less!).

Post-Vacation

Hi there! Took a short vacation over this past weekend; went to Gettysburg. Very humbling and awe-inspiring; there are something like 1,300 monuments scattered over the site to commemorate this regiment or that division who fought on that spot. There was far too much to see for one trip; we’re already making plans to return. Here’s a photo or two:

View of the southern end of the battlefield from Little Round Top. That pile of rock on the left is called Devil’s Den, where a lot of brutal fighting took place on day 2. And that white rectangle on the right is a full-size tour bus, just to give you an idea of scale.

Monument to Gen. George Meade, who led the Union troops this battle. Apparently his troops referred to him as “that damned goggle-eyed snapping turtle”.

And on a lighter note, one of the barn kitties that lived at the B&B we stayed at. She purred a lot!

Over all, a great trip, highly recommended. Happy Monday!

I grew up in the age of the bodice-ripper, when pirate romance was the bomb, you know? All those high-seas shenanigans with those dashing pirate captains… because of course the girl would never fall for a first mate or bos’n or the cook. The first pirate romance I ever read was “A Pirate’s Love” by Johanna Lindsey. Why the heroine of that particular story ever fell for the hero, who kidnapped and raped her, is kind of beyond me, but that kind of romance story seemed to be the stuff of the times–the girl was “taken” over and over again until she “came around” and started liking it and fell in love and blah blah blah happily ever after.

Anyway, feeling reminiscent after last week’s post, I searched around and found some more lovely, cringe-worthy pirate covers to share with youall today(sorry, but they’re small):
